Volunteers
Awareness calls for Volunteers with Diverse Skillsets!
This is a great opportunity for you to be a part of our efforts to advance human knowledge and make it freely available at home and around the world. You can participate with the process of addressing a science or technology question, or promoting a concept in the arts and humanities, or advancing the growth business, commerce, or international trade. You will not only help to expand the public’s understanding and appreciation of these areas of knowledge, but also remove inequities, disparities, and injustice in the sharing and propagation of new knowledge used in the service of human rights.
- Volunteering for Awareness may only involve a few hours per week over a year-long commitment, but every contribution is valuable.
- You will be providing your time and expertise on a pro bono basis. Responsibility for any expenses associated with your volunteer position will be negotiated entirely based on the Journal’s needs and available resources.
- Volunteer tasks and projects will vary in terms of location, duration, and other specifics, depending on the needs of the journal at that time. In our contact form you can specify whether you would like to be considered for projects that involve specialized skillsets, the period and amount of time you are available, and the like.
- Volunteers will only be working with non-governmental and non-profit organizations, or human rights institutions, or in support of educational institutions. In some cases, volunteers may be invited to help non-profit organizations that are pursuing human rights-based approaches in their area of work.
- You have the option to terminate the relationship with Awareness or an associated organization at any time. In such cases, you are asked to take reasonable steps to avoid, or at least minimize, adverse effects to the tasks or project assigned to you.
- In order to encourage fruitful collaboration, all volunteers must have read and be willing to comply with the Awareness journal’s policies (accessible through this website), and sign an agreement to comply with all policies, particularly the Privacy Policy, the Copyrights & Permissions Policy, as well as the Conflicts of Interest & Disclosure Policy.
The names of all volunteers will be published with the last journal issue each year and each volunteer will receive a Certificate of Appreciation from the Journal publisher and editors.
